Our Creative Team

Hello everyone

Let me introduce our wonderful creative team, as we kick-start our challenges in 2025

These amazing ladies will be inspiring us this year, keeping out mojo flowing and getting though our stash!

Donna O'Connell
Hi, Donna here. I started scrapping a year after my first child was born, 2002!. Totally addicted. Have given most styles a try, but I like minimalistic and quite structured designs. Love using different elements/textures. My favourite things to scrap are holidays and family.

Jane Howden

Hi, I’m Jane and live on the beautiful Central Coast of NSW. I have been scrapbooking now for over twenty years using this wonderful craft as a creative outlet and a way to preserve my family’s precious memories. My personal style has evolved over the years, but I do lean towards a clean, relatively simple design approach with a heavy emphasis on white space. I like to capture not only those special events and travels of my family but also our everyday moments too. I am a keen follower of challenges and am particularly drawn to gaining inspiration from mood boards and colour themes for my pages.

Sharon Bishop

Hi! Shazza here, and I live in Melbourne, Victoria. I have been scrapping for about fifteen years and have been on several Design teams throughout this time. I love trying different styles, and I suppose my style is just a mishmash of everything….. lol

I find mood boards give me the most inspiration. I love scrapping my grand-daughter ‘Skyla’ and my cat ‘Teddy’!

I have been a follower of ‘What’s in the Bickie Tin’ for a long time, and I’m looking forward to scrapping with my CT friends and bringing all the members some inspiration.

Julene Matthews

Hello, I'm Julene and have been scrapping for many years.  I was on "What's in the bickie tin ?" Design team previously and am delighted to return. I've tried all styles of layouts, cards and OTP but still prefer 12X12 layouts with the emphasis on the photos. I've been published several times and also exhibited my work at craft shows etc. As the family historian I scrap heritage layouts and also love doing travel layouts.

and myself, Donna Cope
I live in beautiful Perth Western Australia, with hubby and our son, and have been scrapping for over 20 years on and off.
 I have a bit of a mixed style but tend to favour pages where my photos are the focus point.
If I'm not scrapping, you can find me with a book or in the garden.

May Inspirations

Welcome to our May inspirations...

This month inspirations are;
  • Colours -Blue -2 different shades.  Use as little or as much as you like.
  • Add an Angle to your page
  • Use a Die-Cut.
And here are our Creative Team pages to inspire you...

Hi Liz here with some more inspiration.  Loving the Blues in the 'Something Blue' Collection from Uniquely and perfect for this month's inspiration. ' I put the lighter blue page on an angle. Teamed with a hand made 'washi' tape flower.

Thanks for taking the time to look and cannot wait to see what you do come up with.  Until next time.
Happy Scrapping.   Liz

Used two shades of blue, angled my photo slightly and added in a number of die cuts to document a page for our Tasmania holiday album from a few years ago.

Hope you will find some time to join in with us this month.

thanks for looking,

April Inspirations

Welcome to our April inspiration...

This month our inspirations are;
  • Colours - Pink & White.  Use as little or as much as you like.
  • Add a Flower or two
  • Use a stamp.
And here are our Creative Team pages to inspire you...

LIZ

Hello and welcome, this month I embraced 'flowers',  I do not like using them too much, but thought I would not hold back doing my layout  :)

I only used a little pink, which are the bling crystals, white background which is a soft tissue, not sure the exact name for it, little word stamp and of course lots of flowers.

I hope you join in the fun this month and thanks for taking the time to look, until next time.....happy scrapping,
 Liz

I love white space - that's no secret so I have created a simple layout yet following the criteria. I've used a background stamp to create an area under my photo which normally would be patterned paper.

Hope you will find some time to join in with us this month.

thanks for looking,

March Inspirations

Welcome to our March inspiration

This month inspirations are;
  • Colours - Green.  Use as little or as much as you like.
  • Add a Circle
  • Use some Ink
And here are our Creative Team pages to inspire you...

LIZ

Hello Crafting bloggers,

Today I have used my new 3 Quarter Design paper, Dejavu Collection.  It is amazing.   I used a little green  (a little hard to see in this photo) a bit of a dull day at home) and inked my old cardboard rolls (various sizes) to add some more circles.  I just love how it all turned out and just have to wait for the right photo.

Thanks for taking the time to look and trust that you are inspired by this month's criteria.  Until next time. happy scrapping.......Liz.

I decided this could be a great opportunity to use up a lot of little scraps of green paper I had in my stash and proceeded to punch circles to create my page and used a number of small embellishments to add some interest.  My background is distress ink and a stencil which I think is rather effective.

Hope you will find some time to join in with us this month.

thanks for looking,
Jane xx

                                                                          JULENE

I cut the centre out of the Ruby Rock-it circle.
Using distress ink through a mask I added small circles to my background.
There is also ink stamped butterflies on the tag.
Lastly, I fussy cut some almost circular flowers and added them near the top.
Hope our layouts inspire you. :)

February Inspirations

Welcome to our first inspiration set for the new year!

Hope everyone has had a great festive season and summer holidays, kids are heading back to school, so if you are like me, you're are looking forward to getting some normal routines established again!

This month inspirations are;
  • Colours - Red/Pink... One or both. Use as little or as much as you like.
  • Add a heart.
  • Use a stencil
And here are our Creative Team pages to inspire you...

Hello it's Liz here and welcome everyone to our New Year and hopefully you will find lots of inspiration here.

Today I have used Pink just a little and I combined the heart and stencil together.

Thanks for taking the time to look. Until next time......Happy scrapping

JANE

I've combined both red and pink and gone all out with the heart theme using them as patterned paper and embellishments.  I've used a pink ink pad and stencil to create a background.

I used a stencil and red paint to create my hearts. They're rather chubby hearts as the pain was runny.
There's also tiny hearts on the yellow strip across the lower secton.

Hope you can play along with us this month.

thanks for looking,
Jane xx

December Inspiration

Welcome to our December's inspiration

This month inspirations are;
  • Colours - Silver and/or Gold.  Use as little or as much as you like.
  • Add a Bow.  Paper or ribbon
  • Use a stamp.
And here are our Creative Team pages to inspire you...

Julene has been doing layouts about bands that influenced her taste in music. This silver toned photo was perfect for this layout about the Supremes.
The stamp is small and  subtle and her ribbon came wrapped around a gift box.

Hello everyone, Liz here to share my take on this month's challenge.  We hope you can join in the fun this month.

I have used some gold ribbon, baubles and paper.  I have stamped some flourish on the gold paper.  Now my layout is ready for a xmas photo of the grandkids, well fingers crossed lockdown has ended by then.  Take care and stay safe everyone and keep enjoying doing your scrapping... Love Liz

Well finding a bow was somewhat of a challenge - you'd think in a stash my size there would be a bow, any bow, somewhere now wouldn't you but it took some deep digging to find one and then it turned out to be blue.  So what to do?  Find some gold and blue patterned paper so it co-ordinates of course!

I've added in some gold stamping and a few puffy starbursts, enamel dots and blue rhinestones.  I think it has come together rather nicely!

Hope you can play along with us this month.

Jane xx

November Inspiration

Welcome to our November's inspiration

This month inspirations are;

  • Colours: Purple & Grey
  • Add a button
  • Use a border punch

And here are our Creative Team pages to inspire you...

LIZ

Hello to everyone,

Well as Purple is my favourite colour, I could not wait to get started on this Challenge.   I had some new Christmas papers which incorporate these colours, so perfect for this Challenge.

So in readiness for xmas photos, this is my layout.   The cupboard doors are actually grey, I sanded them off a bit and then added 3 buttons.   I used my 'fence' border punch . When I add the photo, I will then cut a space in the plastic album sleeve for the doors to open, so it becomes an interactive page for the grandchildren.

I hope you will join in the fun this month and thanks for taking the time to look.  Until next time....Happy Scrapping.....Liz

JULENE

This challenge gave me a few initial problems. I had no border punch so used a flower punch to create a border along the side of the photo.The grey background piece is recycled packaging from a recent perfume I bought. It is corrugated card so I was able to keep the punched out flowers to add on my layout. I had plenty of buttons so used several on this. No title, I don't think it is needed.

I have very, very little purple based patterned paper so needed to resort to supplementing what I did have in scraps with solid cardstock along with using spray ink to create a purple based background on my white cardstock.  The grey I have used as border strips, two punched and two straight cut as well as as a mat for my photo.

Hope you can play along with us this month.

October Inspiration

Welcome to our October inspiration

This month requirements are;

  • Colours: Orange & Black
  • Add a fussy cut item
  • Layer your photo(s)

And here are our Creative Team pages to inspire you...

Julene has used black doileys which she cut down to size as they were full dinner plate sized doileys. She has layered those with the photo between.

I pulled out all the orange and black patterned paper I had in my scrap basket and layered them together.  My edges are washi tape and I fussy cut two butterflies from patterned paper and used this adorable photo of my daughter's calico kitten - how fortuitous Miss Tilly happens to be black, white and orange !!

thanks for looking,
Jane xx

Hi everyone, hope you are all doing ok in lockdown, whichever stage you are at.  Here in Melbourne we are in Stage 4 which on a positive note has given me more time for scrapbooking.   I am fortunate to have lots of holiday and grandchildren photos to work on.  I hope that you will be inspired by my layout.

I have had this Graphic 45 Collection for sometime and lucky I had the orange background paper and was able to us a few different black strips.  I fussy cut the girls and then set them on foam tape.  At present I do not have a suitable photo, but used a picture from the collection which I love.  At some point I will mount a photo to it.  Thanks for taking the time to look.  Until next time.....happy scrapping.  Liz
